today, i witnessed a classic high school occurrence.
i'm positive it happens at least once a year at every school, but
it was hysterically sad none the less.
in third period, cameron asked to go into another teacher's room to watch someone ask a girl to prom. my teacher was a little puzzled as to why but agreed to let him go.
he came back 15 minutes later busting a gut laughing. we asked him what was so funny, and he told us that matt was bawling his eyes out next door in mr. fedigan's room.
my first thought was, "wow he must be seriously happy that this girl said yes!"
the whole story was that the highly attractive peter, an exchange student with a sweet accent, had asked melissa to prom during first period.
matt had also wanted to ask melissa and didn't know peter had already asked her.
he had mr. fedigan put a slide into his powerpoint notes that said "melissa, will you go to prom with me??"
and so, in the middle of class, surrounded by the rest of his friends, melissa had to say no to prom. it was funny to those watching, embarrassing for melissa, and devastating to matt.
why is high school so great???!!!!?
