I think I like this one better. Let me know what you think. . .
Heres the original Poem
Turquoise
Standing here, in the cool tropic air
Warm turquoise water lapping
At my toes
The sand is soft as feathers,
But at the same time still rough, as the bits of shell and rock slowly worn away to almost nothing bite and scratch at me, leaving the red and burning on my skin.
Yet I stay.
Shoes and socks have no place in this world of leisure and peace
I hope to stay. . .
The dolphins that jump in the blue beyond, energize me.
They leap in the laughing waves, loving all of it.
I love it too, and know, eventually, I must leave.
The vibrant pinks, greens, browns, oranges of the humid air and soil
Awaken the island like the lights awaken the city.
I have to leave.
Then turquoise won't be lapping at my toes.
